GOOD QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

A few useful details before you convert.

Are my files uploaded?

No. ClipMint processes the selected file in your browser and creates the output locally. The conversion engine is downloaded from this site on first use, but your media file is not sent to our servers.

Can I paste a YouTube or other video link?

No. ClipMint does not download or rip from YouTube, streaming services, or other platforms. Select a file already on your device and only convert content you own or are authorized to use.

Why does the first conversion take longer?

Your browser loads the FFmpeg WebAssembly engine from this site once (about 30 MB). After it loads, the conversion runs locally. The exact speed depends on your device and source file.

What is the file-size limit?

The current limit is 150 MB. Local conversion uses browser memory, and larger video files can exceed what some devices can handle. Try a smaller or shorter file if you see a memory error.

Why is a format disabled?

The selected source, browser, or bundled engine may not support that encoder combination. ClipMint checks the engine’s available encoders and disables outputs it cannot provide.

Does converting a file make it legal to use?

No. You are responsible for having the necessary rights or permission. ClipMint is a file converter, not a source of media rights or permission.

Are ads or analytics active?

Not in this build. Ad placements are reserved outside the converter, and optional analytics/advertising are disabled until the site owner configures the services and any required consent.

Is ClipMint available on every browser?

Use a current desktop version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari for the best chance of success. WebAssembly and available device memory matter; older phones may struggle with video conversion.
